A Book by Michael Slatkine
Kibbutz Regavim which is located in the north part of Israel, close to Binyamina, was established in 1949 by immigrants from Italy and Tunisia. To this day, the kibbutz has preserved its agricultural and social characteristics, at the same time as it has undergone a lot of modernization. On the 70th anniversary of its foundation, I made over ten illustration tours around and throughout the kibbutz under the guidance of kibbutz veterans in order to produce an illustrated book which tells the history of the kibbutz and describes its day-to-day life. The book provides a visual glimpse of the agricultural settlements that paved the original growth of Israel and its development over the next seventy years.
